Take A Break/ Take A Pause Of Exercise (Pausex)

It is important to pause, to take a time out for prayer and reflection. Jesus did it. He often separated himself from the crowds and also his disciples to spend time alone in solitude. He modeled a life of prayer, taught His disciples how to pray, and persistently impressed upon them the importance of prayer.

I was reminded of the importance of rest and prayer in an unprecedented way.
I didn’t ask for a pausex. I didn’t want a pausex. Maybe a coffee break here and there but not a sit down, be quiet, observe your surroundings, and be served pausex. I was used to “running, running, running”… attending meeting after meeting, facilitating groups, and serving others. That was my usual mode of being and I enjoyed it very much. Of course I needed an occasional water break because I often felt tired, worn out, exhausted. A pausex however, was not something I scheduled.
My pausex lasted for about two years. My faculties were fully functioning but my body was not. I was quite surprised when I was physically unable to maintain my usual mode of operating in addition to other basic tasks. This began my journey to godly surrender which aptly was facilitated by prayer and solitude.

Whether you are an introvert or an extrovert. A people person or…not so much, everyone needs to take personal time outs. We just weren’t made to always go, go, go and to always minister to others needs. It’s important to set aside time to commune with the Father. It gives you an opportunity to regroup and become refilled. Prayer should be an integral part of your day to day operations. It should be a part of your rhythm of life. Many of us would be amazed how much our life situations and circumstances become bearable after we have taken time to reflect and pray.

The journey through homeschool is not easy and is not without twists and bumps. Endeavor to pray before you commence your school day. Pray after the day is completed. The days where I set aside time to pray before our work begins, we enjoy a smoother, productive day in comparison to the days with no forethought and action of prayer.

When I persistently practice the discipline of prayer and solitude, I feel focused, confident in my abilities to teach my children, they express a greater understanding of the material I present, and we accomplish more of our school related goals. Worry, doubt, and fear additionally are crowded out by hope, confidence, love, calm, and joy. With pray I feel refreshed and experience renewal purpose With pray you will see a noticeable change in your endeavors. Somethings will change immediately. Others will change gradually over time.

Monday-Day 9

Jesus prayed before His power was made manifest.

Meditation: “Immediately after this, Jesus insisted that his disciples get back into the boat and cross to the other side of the lake, while he sent the people home. After sending them home, he went up into the hills by himself to pray. Night fell while he was there alone. Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.”

Tuesday-Day 10

Jesus prayed before and after he ministered to the multitudes.

Meditation: “So Jesus healed many people who were sick with various diseases, and he cast out many demons. But because the demons knew who he was, he did not allow them to speak. Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Later Simon and the others went out to find him. When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.” But Jesus replied, “We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came.” So he traveled throughout the region of Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and casting out demons.”
